How To Soft Mod Your WII

How To Soft Mod Your WII
This is only for a soft mod, if you have the latest updates it probably won't work, if you have an older patch shouldn't be a problem

if possible I would print this out so you can have it while you do the mod

YOU DO NEED AN SD MEMORY CARD FOR THIS

Installing Homebrew Channel

Put SD Card in Wii
Goto Wii Options > Data Management > Channels > Then click on SD Card Tab
‘Yes’ to load Boot.dol
Press 1 to continue
Press ‘A’
Cursor to ‘Install Homebrew Channel’
Press ‘A’ Yes to Continue Press ‘A’ twice
Homebrew channel will now be installed
Cursor to ‘Exit’
Restart Wii

Installing IOS Patches

Click on Homebrew Channel on menu screen
Browse to Wad Manager V1.4
‘A’ to agree
Select source as SD card slot
Cursor to ‘ios16.wad’ + then A
Cursor to ‘cios_249.wad’ + then A
Press any button after install
Restart the Wii

Installing Backup Loaders

Click on Homebrew channel
Start > Custom WM > Load > A to continue
Cursor to ‘Neogamma r6’ + then A
Cursor to ‘Forwarder’ + then A
Restart the Wii

Installing latest CIOS

Click on Homebrew channel > Load
Browse to CIOS REV14 Installer > Load
Accept default ios249
Then press ‘A’ 3 times to install
Restart Wii

Using the Backup Loader Channels

There are now 2 new channels on the Wii menu screen.

Backup Loader to be used if you are loading games via disks.

USB Loader GX to be used if you are using a USB hard drive/Memory stick.

If any of the games will not run with the default settings you have to modify the config files.
This usually happens on newer games. ( Indiana Jones , Sports Resort, etc )

Backup Loader Channel
Click on Backup loader Channel
Click Start and then hold ‘1’ to open config screen
Cursor to config options
Change anti002 fix to yes
Change save config to yes
Return
Exit OS

USB Loader GX Channel

Click on the USB Loader GX Channel
Click on the game that will not load
Click on Settings
Make sure 002 fix is YES or ANTI then save settings.

Note : For the USB Loader Channel to work you must leave the SD card in the Wii

Let me know if you have any problems
